Planning: Storyboard Process

To identify whether my music video will appear how I want it to, it is important to create a storyboard and a storyboard animatic. This will allow me to gain the most accurate representation of the finished product as is possible at this stage. By getting this done it will present whether the video will look both professional and coherent. This will prove whether my potential idea for this video is suitable and also give me further ideas that could be included into the video. This is also the first chance to receive audience feedback and whether they feel the video is suitable.

The process was very helpful in showing me what the finished product will look like and whether it would be suitable. It also provided me with many more ideas that could be added to the video to enhance the professional look that it has about it. The ideas included also developed the storyline of the video which is something that I was going to prioritise throughout the production of this video.

After completing the storyboard, the slides from the storyboard were made together in a sequence to create a storyboard animatic. The slides were sequenced together in Premiere Pro in order to create a video that emulates what the finished product will be. This was very advantageous as it allows you to further visualise the end product. It allows you to see whether the music fits well with the images portrayed on screen and if they support or contrast each other which I found very helpful throughout the process. It highlighted ideas that wouldn't be suitable and also ideas that could be introduced or further developed.
