Planning: APP Challenge

To advance our skills in editing for our final task, we were set the task of editing scrambled clips from Macklemore's track 'Wings'. We were using the software Adobe Premiere Pro and could edit the clips together however we wanted.

The purpose of this task was to get us used to Premiere Pro again and further develop our skills, but also to equip us with new skills such as editing to lip sync and matching lyrics with clips on the screen. The challenge also gave us experience in getting a feel fro making a video that would suit the track, which is what we would have to do for our final project. The task was also helpful in showing us the wide range of tools that are available to us on the editing software. The practice was very helpful as it allowed us to see what we could realistically include in our ideas for the music video. At the beginning the task was difficult as it was my first time editing together a music video. Tasks such as lip syncing I found incredibly difficult as it was a precise task to synchronise the lyrics to the music. However, this was a useful task to learn as it would look good in the final project and would make the video look more professional and include more conventions of a music video. This task has equipped me with many more tools that I can use in the final task to make a better final product. The cut tool was a useful tool that I learnt how to use, although basic, it is very helpful when it comes to lip syncing as it can cut clips precisely and make the synchronisation better.
